Bryan Scott Turnmeyer talks about the Samuel’s Library.
Support for Samuel’s Public Library
Samuel’s Public Library is one of Warren County’s greatest community assets—award-winning, inclusive, and deeply valued by residents of all ages. Recent challenges have put the library in a difficult position, but I believe our focus must be on moving forward, not backward. However we arrived at this point, the real question is: how do we find the best path ahead for the library, its staff, and the community?
I am a strong supporter of our public library and recognize the essential services it provides. That said, I also believe we must make decisions grounded in fairness, transparency, and accountability. Going back to exactly how things were may not be realistic for anyone involved. How would we make sure this does’t happen again? What steps can be taken to ensure the staff won’t be concerned about their job next week, next year or in the years to come?
I do not support outsourcing our public library to a vendor with no established track record in Warren County. I do support funding the library.
This is a rapidly evolving situation. By the time my potential term begins on January 1, the landscape could look very different than it does today. I will remain committed to representing the best interests of our community, listening the my constituents and ensuring Samuel’s Public Library remains a strong, respected resource. As your representative, I will advocate for pragmatic solutions that prioritize service, stability, and fiscal responsibility.
